What is Tree Stump Grinding?
There is a process leading up to stump grinding. First, the tree must be cut close to the ground. Then, systemic treatment is applied to the stump and root system to prevent any “suckers” popping up in the lawn later. A minimum period of two weeks should pass to allow the systemic root treatment to work before grinding. When it’s finally time, we will begin the stump grinding at a depth of 10-12 inches or as deep as conditions allow. Our team of tree specialists will also “chase” any surface roots that we see and provide a full cleanup of the chips. We always leave a slight mound to account for settling.
